When we think of a father, we think of someone that has given life or birth to something or someone. Whatever you give birth to, then you are compelled to nurture, protect and provide until they’re able to function for their purpose. To plant a seed is one thing, developing a seed is everything. You don’t want to be just a sperm donor naturally or spiritually, anyone can give birth to something but it takes a real father to track, trace, nurture, protect and provide until what you give birth to is able to carry out the purpose for which God allowed it to break into the Earth for.
Fatherhood is essential for the growth and development of sons and daughters; every child needs in their life a father to help develop them to become what God intended for them to be. The absence of a father will always create a vacuum in one’s life, I observe that children without a father figure lack validation, encouragement, and guidance. This void can only be filled by a man, as fathers provide a unique perspective. When absent, any man who shows them attention can take advantage of this gap, leading to questionable choices. Fathers are vital for children’s growth and development.
When you don’t have a father, you run without directions and when you run without directions you don’t know where you’re going and when you get there you don’t know where you are.
Fathers give direction, everybody needs someone to talk to them other than themselves. When you have no one to speak into your life, you end up listening to yourself. But when you rely solely on yourself for counsel, you limit your growth because you will only hear what you want to hear.
It is very critical to understand the essence of a father in the life of his children naturally and spiritually. Your success in life is not connected to a person but you cannot have success in life without a person. God would not have connected my future and my destiny to one person and if he did then when that person died, I died. They’re no longer here, and so am 1 but yet at the same time I cannot achieve God’s purpose for my life without having someone to speak into it.
It is important that all great leaders have someone to speak into their life and one of the main things that is missing today in the body of Christ is accountability. In the body of Christ, one of the greatest vacuums we have is spiritual fathers and that’s why everyone has a vision and everyone has a dream, everyone is saying what the Lord has told them and that is good and we don’t doubt that but when you have a father, someone that is connected to God, someone that is a credible witness, someone that has your best interest at heart, many times it would be good if you would bounce those things off of them and let them confirm what God is saying to you. This is the person who will relay the truth as it is; “It’s a great vision, thank you but that is not God!” and it will not matter how you feel about it. If you don’t have anyone there to bring balance into your life then you can make some cautious mistakes. A father wants nothing less than success for his children.
A father is never trying to stop or prevent their sons and daughters from being successful. Matter of fact, that is their objective goal and purpose; protecting providing, and nurturing you. what they want. what they want to make sure that you have a foundation so that you can maintain what you obtain. The Bible says …and inheritance gotten hastily shall not be blessed (Proverbs 20:21). If you get something and you are not prepared for it, then you won’t benefit from it. Fathers help you to pace yourself and keep balance in your life so that you won’t abort your calling.
When I first entered into ministry, I was young and eager to learn. I didn’t know much, but I was given a fancy car, a Mercedes-Benz. Even though I wasn’t experienced, I decided to take it. I only had 16 members in my congregation and was still struggling to find my way around the Bible. But then something happened. The Holy Spirit spoke to me about that car and I couldn’t shake the feeling that it wasn’t right. I decided to park it in my carport and never touch it again. Eventually, I talked to my pastor and he gave me advice. I ended up giving the car back to the person who gave it to me. if I didn’t have him speaking into my life to give that car back that one Mercedes Benz could have derailed my whole Ministry. Nothing was wrong with the car but the timing it wasn’t the right timing. God wants us to develop ourselves
It is very important to note that saying who you are over not better than saying who you are under. This is because being under someone is what qualifies you to be over someone. Having a father is applicable to all areas of your life, especially in Ministry. Many that are following through the Blueprint Series are somehow connected spiritually in some way they’re part of the ministry in some way. they’re either a leader or under someone. When you go out to start a Ministry, when you have a father, it brings legitimacy to what you’re doing. It gives you a good start because people know that you’re not a renegade, not someone that broke away to go and start something on your own, you’re not a rebel. You are submitted and committed to someone else and then once you go to start something start a Ministry, they are there to support you, and encourage you to let other people know that you have a connection.
If you’re not connected, if you don’t have a father, you don’t have an overseer then you’re up there and when you lose you don’t really have any credibility, you don’t have any reference from where you came, so you don’t have anything to speak volumes of your ministry. To add it all up, you don’t have any accountability or Authority. Authority is God’s plan to protect your life.
The success of everything God created is connected and contingent upon staying under Authority. When you don’t have authority over you, your outcome is predictable. God is accountable to his word; he magnifies his word above all his names. We must have accountability in every area of Our Lives.
It doesn’t matter how anointed you’re, how gifted you’re, what people say about you, everybody must have some accountability!
Authority is God’s plan to protect your life. When you don’t submit under Authority, you don’t have protection and when you don’t have protection, you are vulnerable to the adversary! He’s out there to protect you!
Like some of you, I have sons and daughters in ministry, and they are accountable. As a father, I always have their best interests at heart. Sometimes foreign places may let the overseer know about things that they may not be aware of, so we want to ensure that they do not enter situations that could harm them without their knowledge and could damage their ministries. As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together, and we do not want them to associate with the wrong kind of bird, which could ultimately stall their ministry. You don’t want to hang out with the wrong bird they may look like a peacock but they may be a buzzard and you get that on you and you get identified with that and so now you stall your ministry by being in places that you really should not have been.
In the Bible, many people go around and say that’s my son that’s my daughter but yet they don’t do anything for them. Realize that needing a father is important, but don’t let your desire for one lead you to give your body. Don’t be distracted by the trappings of ministry or material possessions, listen to their heart. A father’s role is not to impose something on their child but to bring out what’s already inside them. They help to develop and nurture their child’s potential and bring it to the surface, rather than trying to mold them into something they’re not. A father’s influence should be positive, helpful, and supportive, and should help their child become the best version of themselves.
Years ago, I had a pastor who was very successful in his ministry, with over 20,000 members in his church. I admired him and wanted to be like him, but a wise pastor advised me that instead of trying to be like him, I should seek his help to bring out the potential within me. I realized that what I saw in the successful pastor was already within me, and I needed guidance to bring it out.
Your gravitational pull to your spiritual leader is that you’ll be able to see yourself in them and you would depend upon them to minister to you to help you become who you already are.
You just need to be developed; God never created us to be like someone else. He made us unique and distinct, he wants us to be the best. There is no one like of Apostle Tonny Sekyanzi, you too are the best you there is! Others can learn from you but they will never be you and you don’t want them to be you. You want them to be the best of who they are and that’s where fathers help us.
As I conclude, this is a critical question since we have gone through the understanding of fatherhood.
How critical, essential and necessary it is to have a father?
Fathers have a great responsibility to nurture, protect, and provide for the life they bring into this world. Even when their children become self-sufficient, they still need the guidance and wisdom of their father. It’s a lifelong connection that should never be severed.
Selecting a father figure is a crucial decision that impacts one’s spiritual growth and development. It’s essential to know who your father is or who you want him to be. If you don’t have a father, it’s important to find someone who can fill that void in your life.

Fathers are compelled to nurture, protect and provide for their children and help them to accomplish their Godly ordained purposes in life. It was such a profound and timely message. All glory goes back to Abba Father. Much appreciations to Grandpa, our father in the Lord for the great dream of Blue Print and the Media team for the great work well-done.
