The world is grappling with a leadership crisis. From our homes to our nations, there’s a palpable yearning for direction, wisdom, and genuine influence. This was the powerful opening theme of Day Two, Session One, at the Kingdom Empowerment Summit 2026, hosted by Kingdom Life Tabernacle – Uganda.
Our guest speaker, a “royal and faithful son” of the ministry, shared a message that was not just theoretical, but deeply rooted in his personal journey of pioneering kingdom work in the remote region of Abim, Uganda. He challenged us to look beyond conventional leadership models and embrace a “Kingdom” approach to governance.
The 5 Crises of the 21st-Century Leadership
The speaker powerfully identified five critical areas where modern leadership is failing, creating a ripple effect across society:
- The Absence of Proper Parenting: Many children are growing up without strong leadership and positive role models within their own homes [14:15]. This foundational void shapes their understanding of authority and responsibility.
- Negative Marriage Narratives: The lack of healthy, visible examples of fatherhood and partnership is causing a generation to shy away from marriage, fearing a cycle of pain rather than embracing a covenant of strength [15:41].
- A Fatherhood Cycle of Failure: Young men are often left without crucial mentorship, perpetuating a cycle where they struggle to step into their roles as responsible fathers, husbands, and community leaders [19:13].
- Wealth Without Wisdom: We see instances where material wealth is passed down without the accompanying wisdom and discipline to manage it. This often leads to “wealthy fools” who inherit fortunes but lack the character to sustain or multiply them [20:57].
- Pervasive Bad Governance: From local organizations to national institutions, the entire fabric of society “groans” under the weight of poor leadership, corruption, and a lack of vision [25:17].
These aren’t just societal problems; they are urgent calls for Kingdom leaders to rise.
Leading with What You Have: The Abim Testimony
The speaker then shared a compelling personal testimony that illustrated how to overcome these crises with a Kingdom mindset. Called to the extremely remote region of Abim, Uganda—a place of 5,000 people with no basic infrastructure like shops, schools, or clinics [27:11]—he started with nothing but faith and obedience.
He didn’t wait for resources; he used what he had: a motorcycle and a mobile speaker [32:39]. The community, inspired by his vision, joined in, carrying timber 20km to build the first church [34:12]. Their school, started with minimal income, now generates 50 million shillings annually, demonstrating the power of Kingdom management principles over reliance on external donations [40:44].
His story is a powerful reminder: True leaders don’t wait for perfect conditions; they start with what’s in their hand and faithfully steward it.
The Pillars of Kingdom Leadership: Self-Motivation, Direction, and Discipline
Inspired by the humble locust (Proverbs 30:27), which has no king but still “advances in ranks” [01:14:04], the speaker outlined three essential qualities of a Kingdom leader:
- Self-Motivation: A Kingdom leader doesn’t need constant praise or external prodding. Their drive comes from an internal conviction and calling.
- Self-Direction: They don’t wait for instructions; they identify needs, set goals, and direct themselves towards solutions.
- Self-Discipline: This is the bedrock. You cannot effectively govern others if you cannot govern yourself. Personal discipline is the first step towards public influence.
The Three Levels of Governance (1 Timothy 3)
Drawing from 1 Timothy 3, the message highlighted a clear progression in leadership:
- Personal Governance: Being blameless, sober, and self-controlled. This is about managing your character and integrity [01:28:04].
- Private Governance: Successfully leading your own household and family. If you cannot manage your home well, how can you manage God’s church? [01:30:06].
- Public Governance: Leading at a broader organizational or church level, marked by maturity, a good testimony, and proven character [01:32:10].
Are You Ready for the Throne?
The profound closing thought was a stark warning: “The throne will vomit you” if you take a position you are not prepared for [01:33:04]. Kingdom leadership is a journey of growth, process, and preparation. It’s about developing the internal capacity to hold external influence.
In an era of crises, God is calling forth a generation of leaders who will not just react to problems, but who will proactively govern with wisdom, discipline, and a deep reliance on Kingdom principles. Are you ready to answer that call?
