🍁You need to be filled with the Word of God continually so that you can know what you are hearing is God or not.
Whatever we do must have the trace in the Word of God e.g as we were praying for the new Uganda ..Papa mentioned about being compassionate. Remember Jesus was moved with compassion and he healed .
🍁We must be committed to doing what is written in His Word while seeking what God is saying.
John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name he may give you”
Whatever is written in the Word, let’s keep doing it .It will bear fruit.
🍁Be patient in the process of hearing God’s Voice (Continue to do what God says even in the process of waiting.
1 Samuel 16:1-8 Samuel Anoints David
16 The Lord said to Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.”
2 But Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears about it, he will kill me.”
The Lord said, “Take a heifer with you and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to the Lord.’ 3 Invite Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what to do. You are to anoint for me the one I indicate.”
4 Samuel did what the Lord said. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the elders of the town trembled when they met him. They asked, “Do you come in peace?”
5 Samuel replied, “Yes, in peace; I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come to the sacrifice with me.” Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.” 9 Jesse then had Shammah pass by, but Samuel said, “Nor has the Lord chosen this one.” 10 Jesse had seven of his sons pass before Samuel, but Samuel said to him, “The Lord has not chosen these.” 11 So he asked Jesse, “Are these all the sons you have?”
“There is still the youngest,” Jesse answered. “He is tending the sheep.”
Samuel said, “Send for him; we will not sit down until he arrives.”
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David. Samuel then went to Ramah.
✍🏽Don’t expect God to speak the same way He spoke to someone else for example.
In the Bible the shepherds were visited by an angel yet the wise men received the star visitation.
🍁Don’t decide what you are expecting to hear from God
🍁You can only hear God if you don’t have a choice for example you can’t buy a ticket and a visa and then start asking God for his will in this matter.
👉Don’t make a decision first then involve God.
🍁Don’t expect God to speak to you in areas where His will is clear
👉Just obey the will of God as it comes
🍁 Never expect God to speak on issues based on decisions.
👉Allow God to speak to you on critical issues
👉Don’t get discouraged when God appears silent (keep on waiting)
Reasons why God may appear silent
✨You May be on the right track and there’s no need for God to speak
✨ Perhaps you are being proven, tried, and tested about what he had spoken with you before. For example a teacher, when the student is doing exams is in silent mode and the student materialists what had been taught by the teacher in
silence.
✨There might be something He said/instruction released before and you haven’t done it before.
👉God doesn’t just give instructions for the sake
👉 Sometimes we forget that God released an instruction and we get busy waiting for another instruction from Him
✨God may be speaking in ways you are not understanding or are familiar with.
NB Is there a way you are speaking to me God that I am not understanding?
✨Maybe it’s not yet time for Him to speak on what you are asking him/ giving you answers
👉He makes everything beautiful in His time.
🍁 Another guideline that helps us hear from God is watching out for peace in the matter.
👉Witness of the spirit is evident by peace.
🍁Whenever you are in doubt cross-check with God for confirmation.
